Workshops in Stitch, Mixed Media and Weave
Held in my studio in Birminghams famous Jewellery Quarter, workshops are run once or twice a month. A maximum class size of 6, space to create, all materials provided (just bring a smile and an apron!).

Bargello Box - Stitch Florentine Flames
Bargello stitching also known as
Florentine creates great flame like designs that look just as much at home in modern interiors as traditional country piles.
This workshop will introduce you to 6 different bargello patterns which we stitch on plastic canvas and turn into your own "beat box" as well as looking super cool the box will become an aide memoir for your future bargello stitch projects.

Mixed Media Book Covers - leave with fantastically covered sketchbooks
A great workshop if you are interested in print, colour and how less is most certainly more. Learn some mono print techniques in the first hour creating textured papers to add to our A5 slip cover. Whilst waiting for your print masterpieces to dry we will create an envelope cover for an A6 notebook. The rest of the time will be dedicated to completing the A5 slip cover.

Take one shape - a whole day of mixed media exploring!
By using just one shape you will leave with a whole heap of textured surfaces, printed fabrics and collages that you can use for future designs and textile work.
The first hour we will be looking at the shape and how we can distort and manipulate it by using collage and good old scissors! We will then create textures with heat and monopront. Then the session is over to you to create samples galore!

Colour blend canvas work with crewel wool
A great class if you are interested in
colour or even a little afraid of it!
Using scotch stitch we will create a work of art in a colour mix of your own choice using Appletons Crewel wools.
For the first hour we will look at colour and resonance and then create your own wool blend. The following two hours will see you finishing a unique work of stitched art.
